Volunteering
Want to help guests enjoy their visit? For a day, a weekend or more? Many popular areas of the Country Christmas need the help of volunteers - from greeting guests when the train arrives, assisting in Santa's Workshop, and more. Our volunteers have as much fun as our guests!
Each volunteer will receive a voucher for 50% off one souvenir clothing item and receive a voucher for buttons to the Country Christmas. Number of buttons is based on number of volunteer hours. All volunteers are invited to a volunteer appreciation dinner after the Country Christmas season. You can pick up your volunteer packets in the village office during the event.
Down below are the sign up pages for available volunteer positions, along with a brief description. Find out how you can help today!
BUTTON CHECKERS: Button Checker volunteers will check for buttons to allow entry to the entertainment theater, train room, and pavilion. They will direct people to the different areas. After the train leaves they will straighten the chairs in the theater and pick up trash. This will be indoors or outdoors depending on location.
HOBO CAMP: Hobo camp volunteers will dress as hobos and hang out at the hobo camp. This will be outdoors.
PHOTOGRAPHERS: Volunteer photographers will take photos of guests with the 1225 Pere Marquette Steam Locomotive, using the guest’s own cameras. A "snap & go" photo opportunity. This will be outdoors.
TICKET SELLER: Sell buttons to the public. We need two at the village office and one at the ticket booth.
TRAIN ROOM ASSISTANT: Answer questions, put derailed trains back on the track and keep people from reaching over the plexiglass.
SANTA'S WORKSHOP ELF: Help children make a wooden toy.
